Fern, 2007 featured in the February 2010 issue of B&W Magazine

This fern detail was shot at the National Arboretum in Washington D.C. - digital capture.  There was enough soft natural light (inside a greenhouse) that I was able to handhold the camera using a fairly wide aperature (approx. f5.6).  Recently in PS I converted the photo to black & white and played with a curves layer to give it an almost "inverted" look.
This photo received a bronze award in the Feb 2010 issue of B&W Magazine.

Gear:  Fuji S3 Pro body, Nikkor lens, handheld.
